Love these little moments.

01 02 12

This afternoon (WHILE I was mowing the lawn) a friend of Emily's came over brought by her mother and her mother and I have become pretty good friends. When we get together we usually chat for a LONG time, hours, yes one of those LOL. Anyway, as usual we ended up talking for far to long, and I had a list as long as my arm that I still wanted to get done before Don got home. As soon as she left I had not looked at the time and had planned on going out to finish the mowing, but felt I should get the sink full of dishes done instead. In the process of washing I again felt like I should go in yet another direction and get some dinner cooking while I got the dishes finished.  So I threw everything together and got it cooking . I was just finishing the dishes as Don walked through the door. Lucky for me there was only about 25-30 minutes left on the 40 minute casserole, because he was HUNGRY to say the least!!!!  After saying our hello's I finished counting Sara's piano lessons and washing the dishes. I decided to take a few minutes and go sit by Don on the couch where he was sitting and ask him how his day went. We talked for about 15 min. and then Sara came up and asked us too play baseball with her, so as a family we did. By now it's been another 18 minutes or so. After playing awhile I thought it must have been long enough for the food to be ready and I thought I would go in and get it on the table. I came inside and lifted the lid to the casserole and to my HORROR it was NOT cooked, "what, are you kidding me!!!"I thought. Upon closer investigation I realized I must have pulled the plug-in out enough that it didn't cook. I thought " great, what should I do!!!!" The fist thing that came to my mind was plug it back in, set it for 40 minutes, and go back outside and play baseball with the family. I also thought should we just run to town and get something to eat, and again I felt just plug it in and don't say or do anything. As I thought of Don who had to be famished by now. Fine I thought and out to play with the family again I went. after what was only about 10 to 15 minutes , maybe. I came inside to check on the casserole( to make sure i had it plugged in this time)  and to my surprise it was done. I thought "what, how can this be, maybe I set it wrong?" I then took a spatula and checked to see if the noodles were done and they were (it was lasagna). Again I thought " how can this be, hoooow caaaan this beeee!!" So I hurried and set the table and called everyone in to eat. After prayer while we where eating I asked everyone, one at a time to share something they had had done to them or if they did something to someone else that was Christlike today( we have been trying to do this everyday). After Don and the girls shared their experiences this moment came to my mind to share. Now Don nor the girls would have ever known about this beautiful blessing if I had not shared it with them in this sweet moment. We all felt the spirit and no one could believe what had happened. I am so  thankful to a loving Heavenly Father who if I stay mindful of him blesses my life in these quiet simple ways.

Sara's favorite places!!!

01 02 12
If I ever wonder where Sara is this time of year I only have to look a few places. She's either in the pool or on the trampoline. That's one thing I LOVE about our kids is they love the outdoors, even little Levi. As soon as the sun hits the ground in the morning til it's too dark to see outside at night they are out and playing!!!

Sara took the honorary 1st plunge into the pool of the year, at a COLD 72 degrees. She loved it even Emily got in for a few minutes.
Doesn't seem like she minds it too much!!

Kids new Mini Cooper

01 02 12

Emily loves to play like she is mommy and pretend drive my SUV. She packs her diaper bags and doll or dolls and loads them up. Her doll or dolls end up strapped in the car seats, and diaper bags put neatly in their places, it is so cute. She gets her high heals and purse and is on her way (Where did she get that from!?!). For years we have had a power wheels Dora Jeep that we got out every spring for them. They loved to play in it (Emily mostly) but every year Don has had to fix the electrical switch  (thank you Missouri humidity) and this year it was just unrepairable. The other day we got them the power wheels Mini Cooper ( Emily's choice, Sara will get a power wheels 4 wheeler in July for her birthday, her choice lol.)  So needless to say they love it, Emily mostly she has it loaded down with her things and drives it like a 20 year old who's been behind the wheel for years.  This picture of her is to me what she will look like as I watch her drive away in her teens, it's too cute but I'll be heartbroken to see her leaving the nest. : (
